From 17 April 2017 the company formerly registered as Zibo Guoshi Insulating Refractory Materials Co., Ltd. trades as Shandong Guoshi Advanced Materials Co., Ltd.
The change follows the work rather than the other way round: the business had moved from insulating refractories to advanced ceramics. All existing contracts, warranties and technical commitments continue unchanged, and no customer action is required.
Zibo, long an old industrial base, has been rebuilding itself around advanced materials. Its new-materials output reached ¥103.5 billion — around 20% of the city's total industrial output — growing at over 30% a year.
Oxide structural ceramics account for over 80% of the local advanced ceramics output, and about 93% of the alumina powder used is sourced within Zibo itself.
That matters to a manufacturer here for an unglamorous reason: raw material arrives by road in hours, not by rail in days, so a batch can be re-run against a specification without a month of lead time.
